Recent History of Bushkill Amusement Park

What brought about the fall of Bushkill Amusement Park? Controversy and intrigue surround this scandalous and questionable fun spot’s closing. Originally, flooding was the cause of the doors closing in 2004. Three other floods subsequently also damaged the park.

Amusement ride safety inspector, Walt Reiss offered assistance to owner, Samuel Baurkot. Despite eliciting the help of local volunteers the park still did not open.

Locals are skeptical and unsure who to believe or blame in this mismanage. One thing is certain, people feel duped by Bushkill Amusement Park’s use of volunteers to maintain park facilities.

Neal Fehnel, the previous owner of the park has several tax liens still on the property. Supposedly the liens were as a result of neglect to pay payroll taxes. Clearly, four years later this buzz kill has not been sorted out. Locals are disappointed and beginning to wonder if the safety of Bushkill Amusement Park could ever be restored.
