Kennywood Park
Kennywood
is an amusement park near Pittsburgh(10 miles), Pennsylvania,
in the borough of West Mifflin. Kennywood is one of two amusement
parks listed in the National Register of Historic Places,
the other being Coney Island. Founded in 1898 as a small trolley
park near Pittsburgh,
Kennywood was begun by the Monongahela Street Railway Company,
which was controlled by Andrew Mellon. Kennywood is a large
urban amusement park.
Admission prices are reasonable under $30 for
adults. Kennywood park is big enough to entertain you and
your family all day long. There really is not a time when
the park is not crowed, but if you get there early try and
make your way to the back of the park, it is less crowed there
till around mid day. Kennywood has over 45 rides including
13 for young kids. Kennywood's slogan is "The Roller
Coaster Capital of the World". Kennywood is also famous
for its food. Their Fresh Cut French Fries are served in a
basket with an option of up to eight toppings.
