Knoebels
Knoebel's
Amusement Resort is one of the greatest parks in the country.
It is located in the hills of Central Pennsylvania just off
route 487, near Elysburg, PA.
The park is about 3 miles from the town of Elysburg. Located
in a large wooded valley, the park is quite cool in the summer.
General Admission and parking are both free. A all day pass
is available or you can use ride tickets. On many weekends,
only ride tickets are accepted. Knoebel's also has their own
campground near the park. From Interstate 80: Take route 80
to the Danville, PA exit (Route 54). Follow route 54 east
to route 487. Turn left and follow route 487 North for a couple
of miles to the traffic light at Knoebel's Parkway. Turn right
onto the Parkway into the main parking lot. Parking is free.
There are a number of food outlets on the premises
providing better than usual amusement park type food along
with many regional favorites. Knoebels Amusement Resort opened
in 1926, the park boasts over 50 rides, two world-class wooden
roller coasters, a 1913 carousel, and a haunted house dark
ride that has been featured on the Discovery Channel. The
amusement park is owned and operated by the Knoebel family,
who also operate a lumber yard next door to the park.
